Contemporary art at Albertina
Type: Art Exhibition
The contemporary art exhibition at the Albertina Museum shows about 120 works of art, representing the "best of" of the extensive and ever-growing collections of contemporary art at Albertina. The exhibition focuses on artists like Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, Markus Lüpertz, Jörg Immendorff, and Alex Katz, as well as the great contemporary artist William Kentridge, Robert Longo, and Raymond Pettibon. The Austrian artist Arnulf Rainer and Maria Lassnig will be prominently represented in the show. Since its initiation and opening in 1776, a great interest aroused for contemporary art. In continuation of the interest of the Museum's first founder, Alber of Saxe-Teschen, the collection highlights the work on paper in contemporary art.
With extravagant and absolutely original pieces, this exhibition is one you need to see if you are in Vienna.
