![]() Demel Confectionery OverviewWhile your children are entertained looking at the confectionery art, you will have time to enjoy coffee and cake yourself. The Demel has and still is the place where Viennese aristocracy and bourgeoisie hold their private parties and receptions. The entrance area has been kept as it originally was and the sales section has been fitted into the beautiful Rococo Period salon - well worth having a look at. Also, don't forget to admire the beautifully crafted gateaus and cakes that are exhibited all over the shop. One of the best souvenirs to take back are the "langue des chats" chocolates (cats tongues) - really delicious! |

I loved the souvenir gifts you can buy there to take home - especially the "cat tongue" pralines! The box is very neat, and the parlines delicious!

September 2011 Oh so sweet!

It's super crowded, but you can only take that as a good sign that something's right! Went in for a quick peek and quickly bought some souvenir chocolates and candies for some friends and me!
