Austrian cuisine is highly underappreciated. People usually associate it with heavy, high calorie dishes, which isn't wrong per se, just short-sighted. Traditional dishes are a little "hearty", but match it with a popular soup or salad - perfect!
Tipping is similar to Europe and America, though slightly smaller - 10% is usually sufficient. Go lower in simpler restaurants. The food here is not what you expect, so prepare to be blown away by some of the best meals you'll have ever eaten!
