Khao San Road
Posted by Jay Martin Feb 2012
By a long shot Khoa San Road is the best Thai restaurant we have been to by a country mile. My partner says it is the best Thai food she has eaten since being in Thailand! I don't think compliments come much better than that. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is both charming and authentic and gives a real sense of Thai culture. this wil be our port of call everytime we eat in York!

Hi, Just to say we really enjoyed our meal on Friday. The Rib eye and the Sirloin were both delicious and the service was great too. We will be back.
Hotel Du Vin
Posted by Suzanne Dyson Feb 2012
My friend and I decided to catch up over lunch at the Hotel Du Vin recently, I had not eaten there for some time and had heard that they had a new menu available. I am so pleased that we went and can't wait to go again. Usually I would have a starter but as it was lunchtime I had the Lamb main course which was delicious, the presentation was amazing - not what I had expected either and it was gorgeous. My friend had the Fishcake with soft poached egg and this also was delicious and looked larger than I had expected. Because the main courses were so good we could not resist trying the desserts just to see what they looked like, as well as tasting them. We found it hard to decide which to order as they all sounded so interesting but eventually decided on the Banana Tartin and the Goats Cheese slice options. Again we were surprised and delighted when they arrived, both options were yummy!! I look forward to going again to try some of the other dishes. Thank you and well done.
Cafe deClare
Posted by Davina Green Nov 2011
Today I met a friend for lunch at Cafe deClare and I was pleasantly surprised by their menu which had a selection of dishes that are far superior to what you might expect to find in a Cafe. However Cafe deClare is also a Deli and has a sister outlet in Lendal, near the Museum Gardens. This explains the delicious range of meals, sandwiches and salads that are available. I had the Soup of the day which was a Portuguese inspired mix of Chorizo and spring greens which was very tasty and came served with a huge chunk of delicious fresh bread. My friend had the Goats cheese option which arrived on top of toasted bread and a Rocket salad which was really fresh and well dressed. A great place for a lunch with a delicious difference.
