For anyone who is a bass fishing enthusiast this is certainly the dam that you must visit, a great weekend away for the whole family especially in Summer, as Winter can get very cold in these parts of Zimbabwe.
Osborne Dam is a major inland lake in Zimbabwe, and is found in the Eastern Highlands part of the country close to Mutare. Bass fishing is the dam's main attraction and brings enthusiasts from all over to try and catch the elusive big fish.
In addition to that there are walking safaris along the paths which lead to the Odzi River, birding, pony rides, wind surfing and canoeing. There is also game drives available around the lake, approx 100kms long. As it is such a large dam, water based activities are very popular with visitors, and is the perfect way to spend a weekend cruising around exploring this vast expanse of water.
There is a large camp with self catering lodges and camping sites that can accommodate up to three hundred people and have electrical points, ablution block and braai facilities.
