Changa Safari Camp

Changa Safari Camp on the shores of Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe provides the unique experience of combined Game and Fishing Safaris. Situated on a private concession in the famed Matusadona National Park, and with its own 4.5km of lakeshore, you can realize the total raw African experience from one of eight tastefully furnished, fan-cooled, spacious De Luxe East African-style tented suites, each with its own private deck and stunning views of the Matusadona Mountains across the inland sea of Lake Kariba.  There are six tents plus two family tents, they all kingsize beds when pushed together or alternatively two single beds.

Matusadona National Park is a park of diverse habitat including mountain terrain, mopane woodland, riverine bush and shoreline grasslands. It is also home to the big five including the reclusive very rare Black Rhino, as well as healthy populations of plains game and 350 species of birdlife.

Up to three activities a day are offered at Changa Safari Camp and these include:

walking safaris - very popular in this diverse habitat

Game drives - in customised 4 x 4 vehicles

Fishing Safaris - the famed fighting tiger fish is every fisherman's quest.

Shoreline cruises - in motorised pontoon boats. The shoreline is a myriad of inlets and bays where hippo and crocodile abound and elephant and antelope frequent the shoreline. Sunsets on Lake Kariba are exceptional.

Leisure time is spent around the infinity pool or in the comfort of the lounge/library and separate bar on the fringe of a natural sandy beach, a favoured venue for moonlit dinners and star-gazing. The dining-room furniture has been designed to facilitate group or individual dining.

GETTING THERE:
From Victoria Falls or Harare International airport, a chartered flight to nearby Fothergill Island. A 15-minute boat ride with Changa Rep to camp.
By road - collected in Kariba and taken to the camp by boat, a journey of 45 mins.
