Madinat Zayed is a real bustling area of Abu Dhabi with local amenities and avenues for enjoyable shopping. The huge cream-walled structure of the Madinat Zayed Shopping and Gold Centre is the main attraction of the area. The Abu Dhabi Central Post Office is also in the vicinity while the Gold Souk hosts a Home Centre and Japanese budget store Daiso. The Gold Centre is one of the largest of its kind in the UAE. The Shopping Centre is also home to local and international stores selling perfumes, cosmetics, electrical goods and fabrics and gifts.

The main leisure pursuit in this area is shopping but there are also endless options for dining. There are lots of small cafes and restaurants which are located in the Madinat Zayed area of Abu Dhabi. The most common cuisine on offer is Indian although Arabic, Chinese and International dishes are available. The Madinat Zayed Market is a popular hub to go for fresh produce of fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. Medical care options in Madinat Zayed are plenty with a wide range of medical institutions including the New Medical Centre Hospital.
