On this webcam, placed on top of Madame Tussauds and overlooking the famous Dam Square, you can see the Royal Palace, The North/South Tram Line going to Central Station along the Damrak, The National Monument, the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky and De Bijenkorf Department Store. You can also quite often see street performers entertaining tourists on the square throughout the day.
Dam Square is situated right in the centre of Amsterdam and is a great place to get your bearings with the Red light District and the scenic canals a stone’s throw away. The Damrak, the busy street with the trams and tourists hosts lots of restaurants, bars and souvenir shops as well as the notorious Sex Museum.
You can also see many tourists on the left of the webcam taking the zebra crossing as they exit the Kalverstraat one of Amsterdam’s most busy pedestrian shopping streets. Many of these busy shoppers will continue to the other side of the street to continue their shopping along the Nieuwendijk.
