We don't think this is a catch, but you will be required to write blog posts, take photos and film shorts videos about your experiences in each destination (the My Destination team back at HQ will take care of editing and uploading). We'd also love you to Instagr.am/Tweet/share your journey as much as possible (inspiring others to follow your footsteps along the way!), but we'd hardly call that work!

It means we'll pay for your flights, accommodation, food and the activities and experiences in each destination that are outlined in the itinerary, up to $50,000USD. This amount will include $10,000USD spending money.

Yes. However, a part-payment may be requested if needed to facilitate a continuous trip.

Yes and no. The trip itself can be solo, but in each destination you will have the opportunity to spend time with our local experts on the ground and we will introduce you to loads of locals as well. And of course, you're bound to make friends en route. You will also have the full support of the My Destination team at HQ for the duration of your trip.
If you absolutely want your partner, friend, family member or boss(!) to travel with you then we might be able to make this possible. To cover the cost of their flights we can provide you with the money to do so from the $50,000USD final cash prize money. Accommodation is something that we'll throw in free of charge (we're generous, right?). The activities at each chosen destination, however, won't automatically be offered to your travelling partner and the same applies for other expenses such as food, drinks, local transport, and travel insurance…however, you've also got US$10,000 of spending money at your disposal!

Firstly, make sure to read what is required in your video, blog post and photos. If your entry doesn't meet these simple requirements, it won't be in the running. This is the first step. Easy! Then your entry needs to make it to the shortlist of our 10 finalists, made up of the five entrants with the most public support for their entries, plus another five chosen by My Destination HQ. The 10 finalists are then flown to UK in April for a week of fun-filled activities. This is an all-expenses paid experience, flying into London and meeting some of the team from My Destination. This in itself is a great prize for getting into the Top 10 Finalist stage. During this trip The My Destination Co-Founders, Norman the Nomad and guest judge Ben Southall will then interview the finalists to select the final winner. In the interview we'll be taking into account your great on-screen presence, writing skills, and personal qualities such as being passionate, inspirational, globally aware, creative and fun. You will also need to show that you have 'gone the extra mile' in your efforts and you're going to get the most out of this fantastic trip of a lifetime!

If you are one of our Top 10 Finalists announced, you need to be available to travel to the UK for a period of 1 week (7 days), and flying in and out of London. The trip is all-expenses paid including flights, accommodation, food and other expenses. We just need you to be available from any work or personal obligations.

As mentioned, there are 5 guaranteed spots in the final 10 up for grabs to those entries supported the most by the public. As soon as your entry is submitted to this site people can start voting for it by clicking the social media buttons next to it. Each Share, Like and Stumble adds to your voting total - so get as many people as you can to shout about your entry.

No, but don't worry. Your votes have been registered. It's just that they will be updated in a few minutes time since the social media platforms all take a little while to acknowledge them.

The trip is six-months long, plus or minus a few days, and will take place from June to December 2013. You will be home in time for the festive season!

Where do you want to go?! The itinerary will be decided upon once the winner is announced and had time to talk through your ideas with the My Destination Team. The itinerary will need to include a minimum of 25 destinations from the My Destination network and at least 2 destinations from each continent to ensure you get the true 'round the world' flavour. We'll encourage the winner to pick the destinations they want to visit, however, you will need to be flexible as all destinations on the final itinerary will need to work together as an around the world trip (you don't want to spent all your time on a plane!!).
No. My Destination will organise the whole trip for you, all you need to do is work with them to decide on the places you'd like to visit!
My Destination has partnered up with WorldNomads.com to organise travel insurance for the duration of your trip. We will also organise any necessary visas and/or pay for them to be processed by the winner when they touch down in the destination.

We are looking for someone who is organised, confident in foreign environments, willing to produce the material outlined above and, above all, someone who is passionate, bubbly, enthusiastic and loves travel! You will also need to be available to travel to the UK for one week as part of our selection process. See related question and answer above.

We're not looking for stunning videos of blue, sunny skies and glistening seas (though of course if you have those, great!) If your destination is in the middle of winter then embrace it - or get creative and use photos or props! We're not going to penalise your video because the sun isn't shining - what we are looking for is creativity and originality. Yes 'originality'. The video piece must be your original production, and created specifically for this competition. Plus we want to see you in it, presenting why the destination is so special to you. And finally, don't forget to include the short clip at the beginning of the video! (We can't vote for you if you don't have this clip - download it here: low, medium or high resolution).
