#TTOT Shout Outs! Topic: Adventure and Activities

| September 18, 2012

Adrenaline junkies assemble! This week’s #TTOT was an epic tale of adventure and activities, conquests and catastrophes, kite-surfing and kidnaps.  Over here at My Destination we’ve been breaking a sweat just thinking of all the action packed adventures you feisty bunch have been up to.  So take a walk on the wild side with this week’s Travel Talk On Twitter.  Ready, set….banter!

The questions this week were:

Q1. What is the most unexpected adventure you’ve been involved in and why?

Q2. What is the one adventure you wouldn’t do and why?

Q3. Is it possible to have an adventure which doesn’t involve high risk activities?

Q4. What is your favorite adventure travel destination and why?

Q5. What was your most extreme adventure activity, and would you do it again?

The ‘Lads on Tour’ Shout Out for free-falling inhibitions.

@MalloryOnTravel: Group of climbers + late night drinking + vivid imaginations = plenty of wild adventures.

The ‘Race For Life’ Shout Out for the peak-a-boo baby.

@traveldudes: Life! Why? Because I got born, which came quite unexpected, at least for me!

The ‘Perfect Storm’ Shout Out for keeping Strait.

@Boz23: Sailing across Cook Strait in a huge storm was sure unexpected – and scary.

The ‘Milk Carton Kid’ Shout Out for getting Lost in Africa.

@As_You_LikeIt: Temporarily kidnapped in a market in Tunisia when I was a child, probably because I smelt like vanilla.

The ‘Phnom Phnom Phnom’ Shout Out for keeping off the streets.

@25travels: Eating insects from streets of Phnom Penh – I’ll stick with bacon thanks!

The ‘Danger Mouse’ Shout Out for Die Hard tactics.

@TravelingEditor: Why, it isn’t an adventure if it doesn’t involve a possibility to dying, surely?

The ‘Braveheart’ Shout Out for reaching all new heights.

@hyperren: Doing the zipline while tubing in Vang Vieng, Laos. For a weak swimmer with a fear of heights…YIKES.

The ‘Carefree Consumer’ Shout Out for an interesting Rum Diary.

@timeallytravels: All you need is a bottle of rum and a friend – by the time you’ve drunk the rum you won’t see any risks…so anything goes.

The ‘Great Explorations’ Shout Out for first time travellers.

@wetfootprints: Southern Leyte in the Philippines, largely untouched every minute there is a new experience!

The ‘Ice Breaker’ Shout Out for putting your best foot forward.

@janalopez: Walking on an icy lake in Sweden during winter! You’ll never know if it’s gonna break!

The ‘Raise a Glass’ Shout Out for straying from the herd.

@FreedomLodge: Drinking cows blood with Masaai! Never again…Suck

The ‘Snap Happy’ Shout Out for being so crocrageous.

@traveldudes: I swam with crocodiles in Australia and yes, I would do it again. They were ‘only’ fresh water crocs.

The ‘Creature Comforts’ Shout Out for clucking up the courage to sleep rough.

@curlyhezzy: Me and other 80 backpackers ended up taking the slow boat to Koh Phangan for 11 hours. Sea sick and some get to sleep beside chickens.

Take a leap of faith and have a gander into My Destinaton’s frightfully wonderful world of Adventure and don’t forget to join in with #TTOT every Tuesday at 10.30am!  TTFT…
