Tokuda Hospital Sofia is the biggest private hospital on the Balkan Peninsula. Tokuda Hospital Sofia was opened in 2006 and is named after its owner and creator - Dr. Torao Tokuda. He is a Japanese medical doctor and public figure, an author of totally new approach in medicine regarding patients and their treatment. Dr. Tokuda has come to Bulgaria for the first time in the late 90's and fell in love with the country and the city of Sofia. He met many Bulgarian medical specialists and was impressed by their professionalism. That's why he decided to make the first hospital of the chain outside of Japan.

Tokuda Hospital Sofia is built on 52 000 square meters building area in the south part of the Lozenetz housing district . It has 11 floors, one of which is below the ground level. The medical equipment is state-of-the-art and is renewed constantly according to the world most recent medical innovations. The conceptual plan of the building was created by Nobuo Mogari, a Japanese architect from the famous architecture company Shinto Keikaku.

Six years after tis opening Tokuda Hospital Sofia has served over 1 million patients, 4500 babies were born here, and over 70 000 surgical operations have been executed.
