October 2011 Have to Go!
Karen and Gary Cammock from Yorkshire
We have visited Santa Maria on the beautiful island of Sal many times now over the last 4 years and so have tried many differents bars, cafes and restaurants...........many have been unable to 'stay the course' and are now closed. We always head straight to Tam Tams, a bar which continues to thrive and grow. It's a given fact that whilst on holiday and whilst always being prepared to engage and expeience the different cultures you will head for somewhere that gives you the homely feeling. You will head for a place where you know for certain you will be well looked after. Tam Tams is hosted by 2 of the most genuine people we've had the pleasure to meet. Amy and Ciaran just can't do enough for you, be it your 1st or 100th visit. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is good with a mix of locals and holiday makers of many nationalities. Good background music and Sky sports channels on view. The locally employed staff are pleasant, keen to please and desperate to learn from you. Service is genuine and from the heart. Even though the bar will be busy and buzzing you are made to feel like you're the only ones there. Whether you're on your own, a couple or a family you will be met with the warmest of welcomes.Well done to Amy and Ciaran for your continued hard work, commitment and dedication to a very demanding job which you make look easy. You know for certain we will be back. See you soon

April 2011 Tam-Tam the best
JAYESH GADHIA from harrow
Amy,Ciaran and team are simply "The best".Their hospitality is natural and genuine.
I thoroughly enjoyed eating and drinking at Tam Tam and Amy,s chicken curry the simply the best outside India and on that basis I have bestowed the title of Sister to the Gadhia Clan.
You have got to try Their Coffee Galao its a wicked drink (non alcoholic) and occasionally i used to add a whisky to it.

February 2011 Best Place in Sal to Eat, Drink and meet friends....
Silvana Martins from Sal
Tam Tam is with no doubt the best place to go on the Island. The owners (Amy and Ciaran) are great, they have a good staff providing good service for their clients. They have a very good menu (lovely quiche and carrot cake). You can have anything from Breakfast to Dinner or just a Snack at any time. It is perfect. Keep up the good service guys...

February 2011 Mark from IVC -
Mark Lewis from yeovil,england
Worked over there for some time, found TAM TAMs through work mates that ate there every lunch time, (and some evenings, liver allowing). Best place from home by far, they carn't possibly do enough for everyone and the food is awsome, my favorite is the Amys chicken curry, or the spag bol, errrr no the chiili con carny, well one of them is depending on the day. Her special coffee is a must as well.
My only issue is the pure lack of dedication to trekkies and Amy's inability to do a Spock, live long and prosper sign. I have set Her a training regime and will check for improvement on my next trip! cellotape is still barred Amy!
Look forward to seeing you two soon.

February 2011 Excellent Food and Atmosphere better than home!
Carol Gary Holman from Inverurie Scotland
Just back from CV after spending an excellent 2 weeks there. Spent several nights in Tam Tams enjoying excellent food, brilliant atmosphere and friendly service. Amy and Ciaran are a joy and very hardworking, made the children very welcome and the popcorn and chess went down well with teenagers. All in all can't wait to go back for a meal next time we are out and see friendly faces just like home.

January 2011 Lovely Hosts
David and Tina Lawrence from Macclesfield
Just returned from our first visit to Sal. Have to agree this has to be the most friendliest place in Santa Maria. The home cooked food is delicious and very reasonably priced (try the lasagne, quiche or chilli con carne) and the service exceptional. We also recommend for nightcaps and people watching. All in all, fantastic. Amy and Keiron you are both stars!
Thoroughly recommend...we will return soon and Tam Tam will be our first stop.

January 2011 5 stars
Captain B-DK from Santa Maria
I sailed to Santa Maria 2 months ago and ever since I came to Tam Tam first time I have been treated exceptionally friendly. The selection and quality of food is very good and the happy service that Amy and Ciaran ensures is just unique. The local employees are also very nice and polite - its just harmony!
If you have any general questions about the town they will also be more than happy to assist you.
You will find WIFI access (internet cards sold in the bar), music and important soccer games shown inside on dedicated hours. Closed on Sundays.
5 well deserved stars.
Enjoy!

January 2011 DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!
LYNNE SMITH from York,England
Went to Sal with my sister and her husband (Ruth and Flek) for christmas and new year and they introduced me to Ciaran and Amy - what a wonderful, hard-working couple who richly deserve all the praise showered on them. Tam Tam's is so welcoming, lovely home-cooked food (loved the fishcakes) and it was the place we always ended up at during our trips into Santa Maria. I will remember New Year's Eve with you both, with much affection, for a long time. You are just the best at what you do - and I hope I meet you again in the future. With love, Lynne x

December 2010 Thank God for this place
Norrie Eames from Ireland
Stayed in Santa Maria in October 2010. Tam Tam was recommended to me by a couple of buddies. It lived up to all my expectations - great hosts in Kieran & Amy. Their bar is cleaner than a surgical ward, the food is great..especially the Carbonara and the company is great.
My best advice to tourists staying in the all inclusive hotels...get out and see Santa Maria and kick start your holiday by visiting this pub!

Going back and fore for the last six years we are in love with this island and its people. The first port of call is Tam Tam where we are always given the warmest welcome back from Amy and Kieran. A great couple, with great food and a great atmosphere . one of the best places to chill out with a beer and watch the footy. A must for anyone visiting Cape Verde.

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Tam Tam on various occasions and got the same warm and friendly reception every time. Amy and Kieran work very hard at making people feel welcome and it works - it's lovely to see that the local people enjoy going there as much as the tourists. Keep up the good work guys and may you enjoy the success you deserve! :-) Julie & Kevin (Strongbow & Rose!)

trisha Kearns from Ireland
After booking a last minute holiday, we werent sure what to expect from this little island on our first visit. Its a really welcoming Island and we loved every minute. I have to say though, that we ended up spending most of our time in Tam Tam sitting back and watching the world go by. The owners Amy and Ciaran were lovely as were their staff and I cant recommend their Irish coffees enough!
