Andalucian Drinks and Desserts

Typical Andalucian desserts are an integral part of any family meal and include flan or homemade creme caramel, arroz de leche - rice pudding, and natillas - vanilla or chocolate flavoured custard. There is also a very popular dessert eaten on Dia de los Reyes (Three King's Day) on January 6 which is El Roscon de Reyes - a large ring shaped cake decorated with candied fruit.

The Spanish are also well-known for their alcoholic tipples - the wine (or sherry) of Jerez is loved worldwide and manzanilla (fino sherry) comes from Cadiz and is often served with tapas or seafood. Another well-loved vino is Rioja which has been made using the grapes from the region of La Rioja since 873AD.

Of course in Marbella, copious bottles of champagne are drunk at the beach clubs during the summer months and you'll find cocktail menu's in most bars along the Coast.
