	The Playwright Overview The Playwright Bar and Restaurant in Elviria is the second venture for the lively husband and wife team which made Beckitts Restaurant in Marbella a great success. They invite an international clientele to enjoy their great food and fine wines every day of the week; with its cosy snug areas, swooping stylish bar, elegant decor and light, airy terrace it really is a venue that you will feel at home in. Whilst food is still very much on the menu it's also the fine wines, cocktails, the conoisseur collection of whiskey (it's honestly the largest collection I have seen since I went on a whiskey tour in Scotland!!) and live music every night which will make the bar a rip roaring success. As well as Carlsberg and Guiness something that many an Englishman will be happy to see is Speckled Hen Ale and Real English Cider on draft at the bar. Just what you need after a hard day's work or a long day snoozing on the beach! They serve a lunch menu from 13.00-16.00 a bar food menu from 13.00-19.00, and dinner from 18.00 - 23.00. There is also a Daily Lunch special (see the example menu below) for 15€ and a Sunday Brunch with all the trimmings for 20€ every week. Starters Deep fried brie in a sesame seed crust with mango, ginger and strawberry salad Homemade soup of the day Chicken liver pate with warm toast, a balsamic reduction and sweet chilli sauce Thai fishcake of salmon, prawn and John Dory Caprese salad of buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil Main Stir fried terriyaki noodles with vegetable, choice of chicken or beef Pan fried salmon with chive mash and prawn beurre blanc Roast ribeye of beef with chive mash and red wine reduction Pan fried fillet of chicken with a blue cheese and mushroom sauce and chunky chips Slow roast belly of pork with chive mash, sage and cider sauce Risotto of asparagus, spinach and green peppers with parmesan and chive oil They welcome interest from larger parties for private bookings and will be open for all those special occasions such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year with special menus and a celebratory air! Not just a good restaurant but a really good bar too!

As a local in Elviria and someone that eats out a lot I have been to the Playwright for dinner many times and can't ever fault the food or the service. Occasionally I've had a long wait because they've been so busy but other than that I really can never complain! I thought people should know though that you don't have to eat here if you want to come and listen to the fab live music but you're not in the mood for food! Unlike other venues on the coast where you're obliged to eat to watch the performances, at the Playwright you can definitely sit happily at the bar with a glass of wine or a cold beer whilst enjoying the live entertaiment on offer.

although i have an apartment very close by, i only discovered the playwright on monday, absolutely fantastic, when i return in october i shall look forward to returning...................the bar person from the north was excellent as were all the floor staff!

excellent night at the playwright

I found the dining fantastic and the atmosphere electric. Twelve of us dined and wined at the Playwright all of us found it fantastic and could not fault it the food and the staff were first class. It was a michael bulbe tribute nite so the ladies really enjoyed it. the playwright is well worth a visit

Excellent food

Food was excellent but attention to detail was lacking. Staff not as friendly as we expected having experienced Becketts on several occasions. We were sat next to the main walkway with heavy traffic to the bar area whilst we were experiencing fine dining.

Another great night in the Playright!

Another great night in The Playright on Saturday. Having eaten there on Thursday we were apprehensive going back in case the first visit was a fluke!! It absolutely wasn't! Over the 2 nights we had 8 starters, 8 main courses and 2 deserts - and each of them were excellent. Amy and Sam were again brilliant out front and were buzzing around. Hope to return in a few weeks for another meal at The Playright.

Great venue Food was excellent and service was also excellent. Waitress and manageress both very attentive and quick. The Michael Buble Artist was also very good. Have already rebooked and looking forward to another great night. Well done to all involved Keep up the great work
