Passion Cafe Overview

Irishman Malcolm Spendlove (formerly of famous Irish eatery The Wicklow Arms) and his partner Caitriona Coates have owned and run Passion Cafe since January 2001 and is has become a well-known on the coast for its great tasting food, chilled out atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience for friends, families or alone for a quick lunch on the go. Located in San Pedro it is easy to get to and easy to park. Booking is not necessary and free WIFI is available for all diners.

Passion Cafe have created a fantastic new look for the much loved restaurant this year and regular clients will love the changes while new clients will be delighted with the decor, ambience and above all, the food.

The breakfast menu offers a wide range of tasty dishes that you can choose from including lighter bites of fresh fruit, croissants, and home-made granola and for those looking to start the day with a more hearty breakfast there is of course The Full Monty, a selection of egg dishes and sandwiches.

For the lunch and dinner menu the entrees include Nachos with jalapeños, tomato, Tex Mex cheese sauce, guacamole and sour cream; grilled goats cheese with honey and pine nuts; and quesadillas with chicken teriyaki or king prawns with salad, guacamole and sour cream. Their fantastic salads comprise a choice of six variations, with each available as small or large with the crispy smoked duck, gorgonzola, poached pears, caramelised walnuts, spinach, cucumber, mixed leaves and spring onions, being a favourite of the My Destination Marbella team.

As well as wraps, sandwiches and fajitas there are very substantial main dishes such as traditional fish and chips or sea bass fillets with chive mash and sundried tomato butter; the chicken burger and the passion royal burger; grilled Argentinean rib eye steak; and vegetarian, chicken or prawn wok available.

Whatever you choose though make sure you leave room for their home-baked desserts including the indulgent chocolate brownie, warm lemon meringue pie and the mixed berry pavlova roulade.

Located within Passion Cafe is also Passion Homebake. A bakery counter, set up by Caitriona in 2010, which is hugely popular with those loving freshly baked bread, the delicious goodies on the dessert menu and more. You can also order a personalised birthday cake from the Passion Homebake and once you walk past the tempting array or treats you will most certainly not leave empty handed!

Passion Cafe has something to satisfy all tastes plus the full menu is available for take-away as well as all the delicious goodies from the Home Bake Counter.

Great Breakfast
JB from Atalaya

I try to have breakfast at Passion at least 3 times a week - especially weekends where you can lounge around, reading papers, checking emails (wifi available too) and indulge in delicious food! Really healthy place to eat with a buzzy atmosphere and fab decor.

Delicious Everything

So, so glad they have the bakery now! I´m always in Passion; lunching with friends, business meetings, chilling out after work with a glass of wine.... and the breakfasts are to die for!

Used to love it BUT...
C. Francis from San Pedro

I went to Passion Cafe about two weeks ago with a friend who was visiting from the UK. I've been there maybe half a dozen times in the last year, mainly for breakfast (which I can't fault), but unfortunately my last visit was just that - my last visit! We ordered two starters and our mains. The main courses arrived very quickly... but before the starters! I myself ordered a burger medium-well and it arrived RARE. The bun was soggy with pink juice and altogether it looked and tasted very unappetizing. The restaurant wasn't particularly clean, either. Considering we arrived at a time that I considered to be early for dinner (about 8.00pm) and given the fact that only 4 tables were occupied, the floor and tables were still bearing remnants from lunch... very off-putting. I'd go back again for breakfast but definitely wouldn't recommend PC for dinner.

Great service
William Genske from Marbella

Passion cafe is a fabulous place to meet people (and has great internet service). Even with the streets being worked on, it is still easy access, without any delay. The food and service continue to be excellent, as always. Thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome and comfortable there - always.

We Love Passion Care
Shelley Edkins from Essex

We love Passion Cafe, we are regular visiters there, as the food is excellent. They do a great breakfast menu, but the lunch and evening menu is even better. Very large portion and all delicious, especially the apple crumble if you still have room. As well as being great for food, you can also connect to wireless internet free of charge. All in all, a great place to visit and highly recommended if you are in the area.

Best Place to Meet and Eat
Will from Marbella

Passion Cafe is one of the best places to meet and to eat in the entire Marbella/San Pedro Area- early morning to late night, the food is always good, the service is prompt and accommodating and there is always parking available. I have been coming to Passion Cafe for over three years now - friendliness, consistency and great prices stand out amongst the qualities that make this place great to spend some time. Free WiFi connection is a great plus also!

we have had both lunch and dinner at the passion cafe and both were great! (I'm very hard to please) Lunchtime wraps were delicious and filling, they even made up special ones for the children. Dinner was delicious my lamb burger with feta salad was perfect.

Great Food!
Patrice

Had lunch there today, and was made to feel at home by the staff and owner. The food was absolutely fantastic, garden fresh, and beautifully presented. When I ordered my California Wrap (better be hungry!) I asked for please no red onions, and they did not put the onions on! Its the little details like these that mean everything. When you ask for something, you get it. Belen is the greatest waitress on the Costa del Sol, and is always attentive but never overbearing, she is just perfect. Will definitely go back as often as possible. For me, the value in eating out is not only about the quality of food, its about the entire experience. And at Passion Cafe, Malcolm delivers on every aspect.
