Kissimmee Information

Kissimme is located in Osceola County just south of Orlando down I-4.  It is in fact slightly closer to the Walt Disney World resort than Orlando.  This proximity has led it to grow at a face paced rate fueled by tourism.  Many resorts, golf courses, restaurants, and places to shop are now based in Kissimmee and offer an exciting family expereince.

My Destination

Historic Kissimmee

Originally founded as Allendale in the mid 19th century this tiny town renamed itself Kissimmee when it incorporated in 1883.  Kissimmee experienced its first boom in the late 19th century when it became a steamboat making town.  This boom ended with a railroad improvement and Kissimmee remained a small cattle town until Walt Disney World Resort began construction in the 1970's.
