A lot of time and research has been undertaken to make sure their vehicles have every eventuality taken care of. The reliable 300tdi landrover 5 door station wagons are great safari vehicles, known for their durability and ruggedness the world over. They are supplied with a huge range of equipment from front to back for your enjoyment and safety. In addition to the camping equipment, each vehicle is sent out with extra jerry cans for fuel and water, an extensive tool kit, high lift jack, winch and 2 spare tyres. The vehicles are charged on a daily rate, which also includes GPS, satellite phone, 240 volt invertor for charging cameras etc, stereo with IPOD connection, fridge/freezer and food starter box. They can also provide the vehicle without all the camping equipment if you choose to stay in lodges as opposed to camping.

Undivided attention is taken to each vehicle . They are fully serviced regularly and thoroughly checked after each safari. Shaw Safaris will not allow you to take a vehicle out if they would not be prepared to go on safari with it themselves. Your safety and enjoyment is paramount.

They don’t just hire the vehicles, but also provide a complete service from picking you up at the airport to planning itineraries and booking accommodation whilst on safari if you require assistance. Before you leave for safari, they will send you a trip manual which covers everything from setting up camp, driving in the national parks and road conditions in Tanzania. You also receive a full briefing on the vehicle and all its equipment before you depart for safari, so that you are fully prepared,and confident enabling you to feel more relaxed and enjoy your safari.

For this reason, the majority of their clients stay at their small lodge/bush home, called Twiga Lodge which is right on the boundary of Arusha National Park. The lodge is built in traditional African style, with thatched roof and is set in 5 acres of landscaped gardens and affords breathtaking views of Mt Meru. Being owner run, they can promise you an intimate and personal service. During this time, they also go through the itinerary and where to stop for extra food and fuel and give you up to date tips as to where to find the best game.

Imagine the satisfaction you will feel after driving yourself to a park, spotting your own animals for the first time and making your camp home for the next couple of nights. Sitting around the fire whilst enjoying a well-earned cold beer, you watch the African sun set and listen to the calls of the wild. The experience is something to behold and will stay with you forever .
